What mindset do I need to succeed in this course?

A growth mindset!

Understanding that you don't know everything is an important place to start. Then: be insatiable! Learn as much as you possibly can about leadership by reading everything you can (start by checking out our reading list!), watching videos from experts, listening to podcasts, etc. Who you are now is NOT who you will always be, so embrace growth.

Some great people to start your journey with are Patrick Lencioni, Jim Collins, Adam Grant, Simon Sinek, and even Daniel Kahneman (for those more into psychology). We've avoided adding specific links here because this is your journey! It's easier than ever to learn from genuine subject matter experts; start your research and growth today.

Side note: Take advantage of opportunities to lead and learn as much as possible from experience as well. Watch every leader you know and decide what makes them a good/bad leader (bear in mind that nobody's perfect!), and then you'll know what works and what doesn't.

Tl;dr Top Tips:

  • Growth mindset = who you are now is NOT always who you're going to be!
